Shanique Nicole
As a native New Yorker, I am used to living in small spaces. I grew up in an apartment sharing a bedroom with my sister. Back then being organized was a necessity. Those habits came in really handy when I got assigned to a double dorm with two roommates during my first year of college.
In order to afford law school applications, I worked two jobs during my junior year of college. That’s when I realized that being organized meant way more than submitting assignments on time and organizing my closet by item and color.
When I learned that everyone doesn’t enjoy spending their Saturday mornings returning their shoes to boxes, watching planner videos and browsing The Container Store’s website the way I do, MissOrganized NYC was born.
When I’m not organizing or at my day job as an anti-money laundering compliance consultant, you can find me taking barre fitness classes at Physique 57 or live Tweeting reality shows. While I don’t believe that everyone has the same 24 hours as Beyonce, I do believe that using the 3-part test I developed, we can make our personal and work spaces more functional while still having time for the things that truly spark joy.
